Jumhuri Mudara: The British government has announced that Richard Stephen Lindsay has been appointed as the country's new special envoy for Afghanistan.
A statement issued by the British government on Friday (June 20) said that Mr. Lindsay will officially take over the position this month.
It is said that Richard Steven Lindsay has a background of activity in the field of Afghanistan.
He was a member of the British Emergency Unit's political-military team for Afghanistan in 2001 and has served as a deputy secretary at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office for Afghanistan and Pakistan since 2022.
Prior to him, Andrew McCubrey served as Britain's Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, directing Afghanistan-related policies.
